Job Description
Experienced Hydrogeologist in Stockholm
Would you like to work on complex hydrogeological challenges in urban development and infrastructure projects while helping to develop AFRY’s hydrogeology practice?
We are now seeking an experienced hydrogeologist for our office in Stockholm.
About the Role
As a hydrogeologist with us, you’ll work on a variety of groundwater-related issues, from early investigation phases through design, permitting processes, and monitoring during the construction phase.
Assignments may include, among other things:
Depending on your experience and the areas in which you wish to develop, you may also work as a technical manager or project manager, participate in bidding processes and client dialogue, and support and mentor less experienced colleagues.
Our hydrogeology team
You’ll become part of our joint hydrogeology team in Stockholm and Gothenburg. We work together across office boundaries, combining our diverse experiences and specialized expertise on projects.
With us, you’ll have the opportunity to work on both large multidisciplinary infrastructure projects and more focused hydrogeological studies. Hydrogeology is often part of a larger whole, which involves close collaboration with other technical disciplines within AFRY.
For experienced professionals, there’s also the opportunity to help shape how we develop our hydrogeology practice, our work methods, and our offerings to clients.
Qualifications
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree in, for example, geosciences, hydrogeology, geology, environmental and water engineering, or an equivalent field, and who has several years of professional experience in hydrogeology.
We would prefer that you have experience in some of the following areas:
You don’t need to know everything. Above all, we value a solid understanding of hydrogeology, the ability to make well-founded technical assessments, and a desire to work with colleagues to develop effective solutions for our clients.
As a consultant, you also need to be able to communicate your assessments clearly and enjoy collaborating with both clients and colleagues in other technical fields.
We want to create an environment where both people and technology thrive. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues with diverse experiences and areas of expertise, while also shaping the direction in which you want to develop.
For an experienced hydrogeologist, this could mean, for example, deepening your expertise as a technical specialist, taking on greater responsibility in complex projects, assuming technical leadership roles, managing projects, building client relationships, or serving as a mentor.
