Company Profile

AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization, and consulting. We are dedicated experts in industry, energy, and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordic region. Together, we are accelerating the transition to a more sustainable society.

Job Description

As part of our continued focus on the Water Market Area, we are now seeking an experienced Stormwater Analyst for one of our offices in Norrland.

In the stormwater sector, we work with stormwater plans and strategies, modeling of heavy rainfall and flooding issues, and studies related to flows, pollution loads, and action planning. We are involved in all project phases—from early strategic stages and preliminary analyses to design, preparation of request for proposal documents, sampling, and follow-up.

In this role, you will play a central part in our projects, with responsibility for leading and driving stormwater studies, often focusing on complex and strategic issues related to climate adaptation, heavy rainfall, and sustainable stormwater management. You will be expected to serve as project manager, where you will be responsible for planning, implementation, budgeting, and client communication.

The position involves working on water and wastewater-related projects with a primary focus on stormwater, both locally and regionally, as well as in close collaboration with colleagues nationwide within AFRY. Assignments vary in size and complexity and are staffed by multidisciplinary teams, often including colleagues from different offices.

Work takes place on projects throughout the country. Travel is required, but your primary workplace is the office where most of the work is performed. The role also involves responsibility for preparing and quality-assuring reports, memos, and decision-making documents, which places high demands on your ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.

You will be based at one of our offices in Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Jämtland, Västernorrland, Dalarna, or Gävleborg. Please specify your preferred location in your application.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with several years of experience working on stormwater studies and who is confident in handling both technical and strategic issues. You have experience working with heavy rainfall studies, stormwater strategies, and climate adaptation, and have previously held a leadership role on projects, such as project manager or sub-project manager.

You have a relevant college or university degree, or equivalent experience.

You are well-versed in commonly used tools in the field, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, QGIS, Scalgo, and StormTac. Experience with modeling tools such as MIKE+, TUFLOW, and HEC-RAS is a plus.

As a person, you are business-minded, organized, and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to stormwater issues. You thrive in a role where you can take responsibility, drive initiatives forward, and create value for clients. You also have strong collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team, as well as contributing to knowledge sharing and business development.

Since the role involves many internal and external points of contact, it is important that you are communicative and have a strong ability to build relationships. You are fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

At AFRY, we place great importance on your personal qualities and operate according to our core values: Brave – Devoted – Team players.
