Job description

Hydropower in Sweden is under development and with over 700 engineers globally, we at AFRY Hydro are one of the world's largest hydropower consulting companies. In Sweden, we are today 100 consultants who together drive the development of hydropower - from dams and dam safety to geotechnics, hydromechanics, hydraulics, environment and power stations. We are growing as a Nordic player and also run international projects.

We now want to become more and have exciting development opportunities to offer you with experience in hydropower and an interest in turbines or generators. You will be part of a dedicated team that is located all over the country, active in all areas needed to build and refurbish hydropower plants and dams. Our projects vary both in size and content and span all or part of the process from investigation and feasibility study to design as well as follow-up and support during implementation and operation. In the role of specialist, you will work with aggregate-related tasks, and be involved throughout the journey from feasibility study / planning of new aggregates to the aggregate being commissioned. As our team is geographically dispersed, the project team is largely led remotely, and the place of employment is flexible. Our projects are generally run from the office or home office, but site visits to the plants occur frequently.

Qualifications

To succeed and thrive in the role, we see that you have a good problem-solving ability and are happy to immerse yourself in technical issues. You enjoy collaborating and are happy to share knowledge while being curious to constantly learn new things. As a consultant, you have many contacts both internally and externally, so it is also important that you enjoy establishing and maintaining good relationships. Since it is common with parallel projects, you also need to have a good ability to plan and structure your work to be able to manage your projects in the best way. 

Furthermore, we see that you have:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in hydropower / dams
• Relevant post-secondary education or experience that the employer considers equivalent
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English  

We see it as a merit if you have previous experience as a consultant and a B driving license.

As the position may work in security classified areas, it may be relevant with drug tests and security checks before employment can begin. A basic ID check, reference checks and verification of education are always carried out for all recruitments at AFRY.
