Job description

AFRY is investing heavily in upcoming railway projects in the Nordic region and we are equipped for investments in both maintenance and new construction. Our railway organization is today national with offices from Malmö to Luleå and through close cooperation between different technical areas, we together form a strong whole. In Sweden, we currently have about 120 employees in the competence areas BEST+KM and Railway Systems. The employees are led by 2 group managers who report to the section manager.  

We are now looking for a group manager for the group that sits in our offices in Västerås, Eskilstuna etc. As a group manager with us, you have staff responsibility for a group of about 15 people. You get a role with great variety, the opportunity for many contacts and customer meetings with responsibility for the staff in the group's individual development and work situation. You will participate in the section's activities, including strategies, profitability, marketing, quality, personnel and skills development. You will combine your managerial role with some time spent working as a consultant, preferably as a project manager or technical specialist. You will be a member of Section Midt's management team.

The work will mainly take place in Västerås. Some travel occurs in the service. There is also the possibility of teleworking in consultation with the section manager.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are passionate about team development, satisfied customers, business acumen and have a keen interest in the section's services! We are looking for you who are passionate about seeing others develop and build sustainable teams.

For this role, we see that you have several years of experience from the railway industry and are well acquainted with the issues in the technical areas of track, electricity, signal, telecommunications, canalization and electric power. In terms of education, we believe that you are a university or civil engineer or have acquired equivalent experience from elsewhere. We prefer that you have previous experience as a consultant, but if you have worked on the contractor or client side, it is also interesting.   

You have previously demonstrated good leadership and can naturally engage and motivate. We see that you have good social skills and like to be challenged both technically and in terms of business and leadership. You have a business drive, are relationship-building and it is a great advantage if you have an established network in the industry. Of course, you see yourself as a team player and you enjoy sharing your knowledge with both customers and colleagues.For this role, we also see that you have a good command of Swedish and English and are easy to express yourself in speech and writing.
