Job Description

With a proud history and an exciting future, the nuclear power industry is where you can make a real difference and help shape tomorrow’s energy landscape. Our consultants at AFRY Nuclear manage projects and carry out assignments across several technical fields—mechanical/process, electrical/automation, construction, and industry-specific areas such as reactor safety and radioactive waste. We carry out projects of varying sizes, from component replacements to complex modernization projects.

We are now looking for a project manager who wants to lead HVAC projects in this exciting industry. In this role, you will work on everything from the early stages to cost estimates, design, and drawings, as well as develop and prepare technical documentation and reports. You will lead projects from start to finish by planning, monitoring, and ensuring that projects stay on schedule and within budget, and that they are carried out in accordance with the strict regulations and safety requirements that apply in the nuclear power industry. The role may also include needs analyses, bid reviews, feasibility studies, and investigations in preparation for projects.

You’ll be part of a dedicated and knowledgeable team where you’ll have excellent opportunities to grow in the role of project manager. We work closely with our clients, which means you’ll play a central role in their operations and projects, with the opportunity to work closely with their organization. For most assignments, you’ll spend 3–5 days per week on-site at the client’s location.

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in this role, we’re looking for someone who finds it easy to learn new things and apply new knowledge. You’re self-motivated and drive parallel tasks and assignments forward in a structured and efficient manner. You have a solution-oriented approach, adapt easily to changing circumstances, and see opportunities in change.

Equally important for this role is your strong ability to build and maintain trusting working relationships with both clients and colleagues. You have strong communication skills and provide support and contribute where needed to ensure the team’s success.

We’re looking for candidates who have:

  • Post-secondary education in energy and environmental engineering or equivalent
  • Several years of experience working with heating, cooling, and ventilation systems for buildings and industry
  • Strong proficiency in Swedish and English
  • A Class B driver’s license, as travel is a natural part of the role

It is a plus if you have:

  • Experience as a refrigeration technician
  • Experience as a project manager
  • Experience in the nuclear power industry

Since the position involves working in security-classified areas, you will undergo drug testing and a security clearance process, including a criminal background check in accordance with Chapter 3, before employment can begin.
