Job Description

About the Role Would you like to help shape the future of industry alongside dedicated colleagues in an environment where knowledge sharing, collaboration, and curiosity take center stage?

As an instrumentation engineer with us, you’ll work on design and engineering for industrial process facilities, with a focus on instrumentation, control systems, and automation solutions. You’ll play a key role in projects where multiple technical disciplines work together to create sustainable and efficient solutions for our customers.

The role is varied and gives you the opportunity to follow projects through multiple phases, from early feasibility studies and design to implementation and follow-up.

Examples of job responsibilities:

  • Design and engineering of instrumentation solutions
  • Work with control systems and automation equipment
  • Technical documentation
  • Working on projects both at client sites and within AFRY’s own operations
  • Design and documentation for SIL-classified systems
  • Design and documentation in ATEX environments
  • Collaboration with colleagues in process, mechanical, electrical, and piping disciplines
  • Working with modern engineering tools and database environments

Qualifications

About You

We believe you have

  • A technical degree from a college, university, or vocational school in a relevant field
  • Experience with instrumentation technology in industrial process facilities
  • Experience with project work and collaboration across various engineering disciplines
  • Experience with technical documentation and design
  • Experience with engineering tools such as Comos or similar systems
  • A good understanding of working with smart P&IDs
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English
  • Class B driver’s license

Experience in the following areas is a plus:

  • SIL-classified facilities
  • ATEX environments
  • Control systems
  • Automation
  • The process industry.

We offer a hybrid work model, but the primary work location is at the client’s site or at our office in Karlstad.
