Job description

We have a lot going on and are now looking for you who want to work as a Junior Construction Engineer with us in Linköping, Norrköping or Motala, with a desired start as soon as possible, by agreement.

With us, you work with assignments in, among other things, industry, housing, infrastructure, commercial and public buildings. Our assignments include all stages, from feasibility studies and investigations to system and construction document design.

As a Junior Construction Designer, you work both independently and in teams, with the support of the supervising designer and assignment manager. The role includes, among other things:

• Projecting load-bearing structures and associated detail solutions
• Developing technical descriptions
• Working in tools such as Revit and / or Tekla
• Performing calculations with computer support
• Active participation in design meetings with the customer and consulting group

The role involves close cooperation with both colleagues and customers and we always start from the office when working.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, we believe that you have a genuine technical interest and want to develop in building construction. The following is required for the role:

• Completed degree as a civil engineer (university engineer) or civil engineer with a specialization in building construction or equivalent education, or ongoing degree project where all courses are completed and the degree is planned to be taken out before the summer of 2026. Clear focus on structural engineering and building mechanics.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, in speech and writing
• B driving license
• Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 (eg. Outlook, Word and Excel)
• Today live in, or have clear relocation plans to, Linköping, Norrköping or Motala, as the role is based in one of these offices

It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have:

• Experience of design of load-bearing structures in concrete, steel and / or wood
• Work experience from the wood, concrete or steel industry
• Experience of Revit and / or Tekla
• Experience of calculation programs for building construction such as Strusoft FEM design or other 2D programs
• Internship, thesis work or summer job with a clear focus on building construction and design

Personality is important in the role. As the work sometimes involves several parallel assignments, you need to be able to create structure in your everyday life and to plan and drive your work in an efficient way - for the benefit of both yourself and your customers.

Flexibility is a natural keyword for you, both in the collaboration with colleagues and in the dialogue with the customer. As a consultant, it is important that you can inspire confidence, are communicative and thrive in the role as AFRY's representative with our clients.

You have a natural openness and curiosity about new assignments and issues. By listening to the client's needs and daring to raise your gaze, you contribute to good collaborations - and are not afraid to "raise your hand" when you see that you can contribute with your expertise.
