Company description

AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordics. Together we accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society.

Job description

Are you curious to immerse yourself in nuclear power while contributing to a sustainable energy supply? Then this could be the role for you!

We at AFRY Nuclear are proud to be one of the largest competence providers to the nuclear power industry in Sweden and the Nordic region. With long-term partnerships and a strong trust from our customers, we are facing an exciting future, and now want to strengthen our team in Solna with a new colleague in nuclear safety. A typical assignment is to update and review safety reports, instructions or related documentation for nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities. Since much work is carried out as a result of new regulations and requirements from the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority, the work often includes interpretation of requirements, mainly linked to the areas of reactor safety and radiation protection. Other examples of assignments may include producing and reviewing various types of safety analyses and conducting feasibility studies and technical investigations of various kinds. You may also work on performing dose or dispersion calculations using modeling tools for feasibility studies and technical investigations.

You will be part of a knowledgeable and committed team consisting of 16 employees and partners, where we focus on knowledge sharing, mentoring and joint development. Location for the position is at our headquarters in Solna. Travel to our customers, such as nuclear power plants or nuclear facilities, occurs as a natural part of the service.

Qualifications

We attach great importance to your personal qualities and your potential to develop with us. We are looking for you who have a strong analytical ability that thrives in a role where you get to immerse yourself in technical issues and understand how different systems are connected. You are thorough and have a good ability to plan and structure your work. Equally important for the role is that you thrive on collaboration and are curious to learn new things while sharing your own ideas and knowledge. You value building good and trusting relationships, both with customers and colleagues.

Last but not least, we are looking for you who have an interest in energy issues and who want to learn and develop in nuclear power. You have a civil or university engineering degree and very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing. We consider it an advantage if you have taken courses in nuclear power, have work experience from the energy industry, preferably from nuclear power, and have a B-driving license.

As the position operates in security-classified areas, you will undergo drug tests and security tests before employment can begin. For all recruitments at AFRY, an ID check, reference checks and verification of education are always carried out as a basis for employment.
