Job Description
As a Design Engineer, you’ll work on design and structural calculations for construction projects, from system documentation to construction drawings. You will be responsible for developing and quality-assuring structural systems, calculation models, and design documents in close collaboration with project managers.
The role involves both independent calculation work and coordination with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines. This role is ideal for someone who wants a clear technical focus and who, in the long term, can progress toward project management responsibilities.
The position is based in Umeå or Mora.
Qualifications
For the role of Structural Engineer, we are looking for someone with strong technical skills and experience working with structural calculations and design drawings in construction projects. You are meticulous, analytical, and enjoy taking responsibility for your own work in close collaboration with project managers.
Requirements for the role:
- At least 5 years of experience as a structural engineer
- Practical experience with structural calculations and dimensioning
- Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and BBR
- Experience working in Revit and/or Tekla
- Good spoken and written Swedish
- Class B driver’s license
You have a structured approach to work and can work independently on calculations and drawings, while actively contributing to coordination with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines. This role is ideal for someone who wants to deepen their technical expertise and, in the long term, take on greater responsibility in projects.
The following are considered a plus:
- Experience with projects in the hospital, defense, or security sectors
- Experience working with FEM software, such as FEM-Design
- Experience coordinating and reviewing design documents
