Job Description
The automotive industry is in the midst of one of its greatest transformations ever. Electrification, digitalization, and autonomous technologies are changing how the vehicles of the future are designed, developed, and produced. At AFRY Automotive, we’re proud to be part of this journey and are now looking for a dedicated and technology-driven Lead Engineer who wants to contribute to the development of the next generation of commercial vehicles.
Our clients in the defense industry are also facing exciting technological developments and have a great need for experienced Lead Engineers.
As a Lead Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to work on innovative solutions in technically challenging projects with some of Sweden’s leading players in the automotive and defense industries. You’ll be an important part of our team in the Stockholm region, based in Stockholm or Södertälje, where—together with colleagues and customers—you’ll drive innovative solutions that contribute to a more sustainable future.
About the Role
In the role of Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating technical development activities throughout the entire product development process. You’ll be a key player in projects where you combine technical expertise with a coaching and collaborative leadership style.
Assignments can be carried out both within AFRY’s internal delivery organization or on-site at our clients’ locations, providing you with a varied workday and the opportunity to grow in different environments.
You will work closely with designers, project managers, and other technical specialists to ensure that projects are delivered with high quality and in accordance with established goals. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear and actionable solutions.

Qualifications
Several years of experience in product development within the manufacturing industry
At least three years of experience with CATIA V5
4–5 years of experience in the automotive industry
Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, such as mechanical engineering, product development, or equivalent
Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Swedish citizenship
