Job Description

Would you like to join us on our journey to help our clients achieve safer and more reliable production? We’re currently looking for driven and experienced machine safety specialists who want to help develop and strengthen our growing team! The demand for qualified machine safety support is growing rapidly among our customers and we need to expand our team to meet these requests. If you want to help create real value for both our clients and our team, then this is the role for you!

As part of AFRY’s Industry Division, you’ll be a key player in the Nordic region’s largest safety organization—a collective force of over 150 experts in occupational health and safety, machine safety, process safety, fire protection, and civil protection and emergency preparedness, spread across some 30 offices in Sweden. With us, you’ll work at the forefront alongside the European Commission, standardization bodies, and national authorities to influence and develop the safety requirements of the future.

As a Machine Safety Specialist with us, you’ll work on challenging and rewarding assignments related to machinery and facilities for some of Sweden’s most exciting industrial operations. Since our services span multiple industries, your assignments may vary across sectors such as: Manufacturing, Process Industries, Metals & Mining, Energy, Food & Pharmaceuticals, and Construction.

You will become a key partner to our customers by identifying and interpretingproduct and user guidelines and thereby helping them ensure that their facilities or products meet all requirements for safe and secure operation. You will be part of our national team of specialists, where you can work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing expert advice on machine safety and regulatory compliance
• Training in risk assessment methodology, CE marking, and documentation
• Conducting machine risk assessments and compiling technical documentation
• Support with CE marking of machines or production lines
• Comprehensive projects with a focus on machine safety as well as user directives 

The work location is flexible. We are able to hire in several locations in central Sweden, such as Stockholm, Uppsala, Gävle, Västerås, Karlstad, Falun, or Borlänge. The role may involve travel within and outside Sweden.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a few years of documented experience working with machine safety
• Have a good knowledge of the EU Machinery Directive (and preferably the Low Voltage Directive) and harmonized standards, as well as a good understanding of the risks and functions of machinery, both mechanical and electrical
• Are accustomed to leading risk assessments
• Have a technical education at the high school and/or college level or equivalent
• Have good computer skills and a solid knowledge of the Office suite, including SharePoint
• Hold a valid Class B driver’s license
• Good language skills in both English and Swedish
