Job Description
We are now seeking a Service Area Manager with a focus on distribution networks to join our team at Thermal Sweden. The role is flexible in terms of location within Sweden, and you will work in a national context with colleagues in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö.
With us, you’ll play a key role in building on existing operations and clarifying our direction, offering, and priorities at a time when energy systems are changing rapidly. You’ll be part of the management team and help develop both our distribution network offerings and the operations within Thermal Sweden.
As Service Area Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading and developing the Distribution Systems service area. The role combines leadership, business development, and delivery responsibility, with a clear focus on strengthening our position and driving continued growth. You will be responsible for staff, the work environment, and results, and will work closely with customers and colleagues to develop the business and ensure high-quality deliveries.
You will lead a team of approximately 10 employees as well as a number of subcontractors and be part of a business unit of about 50 people. The role involves collaboration with other Service Area Managers within Thermal Sweden and some travel, primarily related to customer engagement and leadership responsibilities. Depending on the needs of the business, there is also the opportunity to work part-time on operational consulting assignments.
As a Service Area Manager, you will be part of the management team for AFRY Thermal Sweden, which currently consists of four service areas: Distribution Systems, Piping and Plant Engineering, Process Design, and Project Management.

What knowledge and experience do you need?
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with district heating/cooling networks, gas pipelines, or similar energy infrastructure
- Experience leading teams or large projects in complex environments
- Experience with customer relations/sales
Preferred:
- Experience with project planning/construction management
- Experience in strategy/business development
- Management experience with responsibility for staff and budget
In this role, it is also essential that you have a strong command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
