Job description

Do you have leadership experience and are you ready to take the next step in your career? AFRY Hydro is in a strong growth phase and is now offering development opportunities for those who want to run operations in the role of manager with us.

Within Hydro, we are today 100 consultants in Sweden and over 700 engineers globally who together drive the development of hydropower - from dams and dam safety to geotechnics, hydromechanics, hydraulics, environment and power station. We work in project teams to solve customers' challenges, both in national and international projects. We are in an exciting and expansive phase where we are investing in growth as a Nordic player - and now we are looking for you who want to join our growth journey and make a real difference. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build, develop and lead teams from the ground up, while helping to shape the future of hydropower together with us.

In the role, you have overall responsibility for a technology area within Hydro. You will lead the business with a focus on business development and employee development. You have personnel responsibility where you support and coach both individuals and teams, are responsible for resource planning and recruitment. You have business responsibility where you build customer relationships, drive sales and lead tender work. The role also includes business development where you lead through managers and shape strategies, follow up on deliveries and ensure quality, and negotiate and agree on our projects. Participating in project work is possible and you decide if it is interesting to combine with the role.

You will be part of our management team and will work closely with other managers in the Nordic region and interact with managers globally within Hydro. In this role, you will have great scope to create, shape and influence, both the development of your group, technology area and Hydro's continued growth. At the same time, you will help drive the green transition forward by improving the conditions for hydropower production throughout the Nordic region.

Qualifications

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and your potential to develop with us. To succeed in the role, your holistic business perspective will be important. You are used to taking on great responsibility and thrive and grow when faced with new challenges. You don't need to know everything but are happy to try new ideas. You thrive on creating and building, and courageously working on development, expansion and new collaborations. Equally important for the role is that you value building trusting relationships and collaborations both internally and externally and creating successful and prosperous teams.

Furthermore, we see that you have the following knowledge and experience:

  • High school degree or similar post-secondary education
  • At least 10 years of work experience from hydropower / dams
  • Experience from a managerial role where you have had staff responsibility
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English

We see it as meritorious if you have:

  • Experience of working in either mechanical engineering, dam safety, power station, hydraulics, generator, turbine, electrical and control plant or construction/plant with experience of dam safety/power stations
  • Experience of role with business and performance responsibility
  • Experience of leading other managers
  • Experience from the consulting or contracting industry
