Job Description

The power grid plays a central role in the energy transition. Investments are driven by the need to reinvest in existing infrastructure, connect new power generation capacity, and the increasing electrification of industry and the transportation sector. The demand for consulting services in Transmission & Distribution is therefore expected to increase significantly in the coming years.

At the same time, Western Sweden is one of Sweden’s most important regions for the energy and industrial transition, with a high concentration of industry, energy companies, and major electrification projects. This creates significant opportunities for AFRY to develop both its service offering and its long-term customer relationships in the energy and industrial sectors.

As Market Area Manager for Grid Integration, Substation & Distribution (GISD) in Western Sweden, you will have overall responsibility for the business’s growth, profitability, and operational development. You will lead the business through Group Managers and specialist teams and drive the development of the market, customers, and business in the region.

The role combines strategic leadership, business development, and operational management. You are responsible for developing long-term customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring successful project delivery within a growing project and contract portfolio. An important part of the role is to strengthen AFRY’s position with both energy and industrial clients and contribute to their transition through innovative and sustainable solutions.

You will have overall responsibility for converting market opportunities into profitable business and project deliveries, ensuring a balance between sales, resource capacity, and project execution, and creating the conditions for continued growth in the region.

You will report to the Director & Head of T&D Sweden GISD and be part of the management team for AFRY’s operations in Sweden. The role involves close collaboration with clients, partners, technical specialists, and other leaders within AFRY, both nationally and internationally.

What knowledge and experience do you need?

Required Qualifications

• Substantial experience in Transmission & Distribution, energy infrastructure, energy, industry, or related technical fields.
• Management experience with responsibility for personnel, budgets, and/or results in the energy, industrial, infrastructure, or technical sectors.
• Experience in business development, sales, and strategic customer relations.
• You are fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and English, as the role operates in both national and international contexts.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in a consulting role
• Experience with international projects, business operations, or organizations.
• Experience in developing, establishing, or expanding operations.
• Experience in the industry, or working with industrial clients
• Experience with distribution networks, substations, or substation automation.
• Experience leading managers in the technology, energy, or consulting sectors
