Job Description
AFRY’s environmental and sustainability services help clients in the public sector, industry, and energy sector meet increasing demands for resource efficiency, environmental responsibility, and climate transition. Our expertise spans environmental impact assessments, permitting processes, sustainability strategies, climate and life-cycle assessments, EHS, as well as land and nature issues and the circular economy.
In the role of Market Area Manager, you will have personnel and performance responsibility for approximately 75 employees and will report to the Director and Head of Transportation Sweden Environment, You will lead four direct reports and other team members spread across six offices in Skåne, Halland, Blekinge, Jönköping, and Västra Götaland.
In this role, you are responsible for leading and developing employees by fostering engagement, building trust, and establishing a culture centered on expertise, collaboration, and continuous development. You will drive the business by creating and managing long-term client relationships and ensuring sustainable profitability in a specialized consulting practice.
You will be part of Transportation Sweden Environment’s management team and will be motivated by actively contributing to the development of our offerings—both operationally and strategically—alongside business developers, regional managers, market area managers, section managers, and group managers.
The choice of location is flexible within the market area.
Qualifications
You are an experienced and confident leader with a background in civil engineering, environmental, and sustainability issues—for example, as a consultant, client, or in another relevant role. You are accustomed to leading through other managers and have a good understanding of how to develop a business-oriented, values-driven, and knowledge-intensive organization.
You are strategic and business-driven, with the ability to see the big picture and drive long-term development. You work closely with customers and are skilled at building strong, trusting relationships at the executive level. At the same time, you are an engaging and inclusive leader who embodies a clear, modern leadership style that prioritizes people and collaboration.
We expect you to have a relevant academic degree in the field of environment and/or sustainability.
You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
