Company Profile

AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization, and consulting. We are dedicated experts in industry, energy, and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordic region. Together, we’re accelerating the transition to a more sustainable society.

Job Description

Do you want to help shape the sustainable society of the future? Then AFRY is the place for you!

With us, you’ll be part of a dedicated team working across a broad spectrum of urban development. We’re driven by the goal of creating attractive, inclusive, and sustainable cities and communities. Our clients include municipalities, regions, and government agencies, as well as private sector organizations.

As a project manager, you’ll play a central role in our projects. You’ll be responsible for the budget, schedule, quality, and on-time delivery—from planning through implementation. The role also involves leading and supporting other consultants, as well as ensuring that our deliverables meet the client’s requirements and technical standards. Assignments range from smaller local projects to larger, long-term, and complex projects spanning several years

In your role, you’ll work closely with the client, other technical disciplines, and various stakeholders to create integrated and sustainable solutions that meet the project’s needs.

You will be based at one of our offices in Piteå or Luleå

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who isa high school, college, or civil engineering graduate in civil engineering, or who has equivalent relevant professional experience. You have at least three years of experience as a project manager, have worked on multidisciplinary projects, and want to take on a more senior role in leading complex projects and mentoring others.

You have a strong understanding of finance and business principles, as well as experience managing budgets and resources with sound financial acumen. We also expect you to have a solid understanding of the laws, standards, and technical guidelines that govern the industry, and to be able to ensure that our projects comply with applicable regulations and maintain high technical quality.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need strong proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as you’ll be collaborating with both national and international partners.

Since we work continuously with international partners, experience leading employees in other countries is a plus.

Work experience as an entrepreneur or with our clients is a plus.

In summary, we are looking for a dedicated, organized, and technically skilled leader who wants to help ensure that our projects not only meet today’s requirements but also contribute to shaping the sustainable societies of the future.

Additional Information

As a consultant with us, you’ll never be on your own in your assignments. Here, you’ll join an organization where strong teamwork, open knowledge-sharing platforms, and a broad professional network are a given.

You’ll have access to experienced colleagues, specialized expertise, mentorship, and several internal networks that will help you grow—both in your role and in your projects. Whether you need someone to bounce ideas off of, technical expertise, methodological support, or just someone to discuss ideas with, the support structures are already in place.

We believe that a consultant’s strength comes from a combination of personal drive and a secure foundation to rely on. That’s why we offer:

  • Support from a dedicated team that guides you through every phase of the assignment

  • Multiple expertise networks where you’ll meet colleagues with similar areas of focus

  • A culture that encourages collaboration, learning, and generosity

  • Access to both local and national networks, so you can always find the right expertise close to you

With us, you’re part of something bigger—a community where your ideas are valued, where you can grow, and where we work together to deliver the best possible service to our customers.
