Job Description

Northern Sweden is in a unique phase of expansion with major investments in industry—and we want you to join us in driving this development.

We are now looking for a multidisciplinary project manager who wants to grow with us and help lead projects that shape the industry of the future.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead projects throughout their entire lifecycle—from concept and feasibility studies to implementation and handover
  • Be responsible for the big picture: safety, environment, scope, time, cost, and quality
  • Work closely with clients and build long-term relationships
  • Lead and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams in areas such as process, mechanics, electrical/instrumentation, and automation
  • Contribute to the development of work methods, business, and teams

You will work on projects in the process industry, and assignments will be tailored to your experience, interests, and individual development plan.

With us, you’ll have strong support in the form of established project tools, specialists in planning, procurement, and document management, as well as AFRY’s common project model.

We are part of AFRY Sweden AB, where we bring together broad technical expertise and manage everything from T&M assignments to EPC and EPCM projects across seven sectors. This gives us a unique opportunity to take on overall responsibility and offer both client-facing assignments and exciting in-house projects.

The location could be Umeå, Skellefteå, Piteå, Luleå, Örnsköldsvik, or Sundsvall.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a leadership role and is motivated by driving progress in complex projects. You’re someone who inspires others, builds trust, and gets teams to perform together.

To succeed in this role, we’d like you to have:

  • Several years of project management experience in industry, preferably in the process industry
  • Experience with projects in the range of approximately 1–100 MSEK, for example in Metal & Mining, Pulp & Paper, Chemicals & Biorefinery
  • An engineering degree (master’s or bachelor’s) or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of project management related to finances, schedules, and risk
  • Excellent written and spoken Swedish and English

Desirable:

  • Certifications such as PMI, IPMA, or PRINCE2

As a person, you are:

  • Business-oriented and solution-focused
  • Structured and clear in your leadership
  • Communicative and a team player
  • Curious and driven in your own development

At AFRY, we value courage, curiosity, and collaboration—we believe that diversity strengthens our teams and therefore welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
