AFRY Food is a dedicated segment within AFRY with full focus on the food industry. About the role
As a Process Engineer at AFRY Food, you will be involved in designing, building and commissioning the next generation of food production. You work closely with clients on projects ranging from concept and process design to installation and commissioning, with responsibility for documentation, dimensioning and technical choices that affect plant performance.
In a multidisciplinary team, you contribute to creating resource-efficient production flows with a focus on energy, water and reduced waste, as well as development in automation and digital working methods. The role is varied and combines work in the office and at the customer's site, with close collaboration both within the team and cross-disciplinary within AFRY when needed. Location is Gothenburg.
In the role of Process Engineer, you often work in turnkey projects - in-house or on behalf of the client - where you contribute throughout the entire chain from design to verification, which means:
- Process design - design of parts of or entire processes
- Preparation of technical documentation, requirements and documentation (e.g. flows, specifications, documentation for purchasing, etc. flows, specifications, basis for purchasing)
- Technical purchasing and supplier dialog
- Verification and commissioning support (FAT/SAT)
You will also have the opportunity to work with:
- Concept and feasibility studies
- Process optimization in existing plants (capacity, quality, energy and sustainability)
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have experience in process technology in food and who want to continue to grow in the role - both technically and in customer dialogue. You thrive in projects, are happy to collaborate and share your knowledge.
Requirements:
- Technical education at college level or equivalent acquired through work experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience as a process engineer in the food sector
- Experience in leading others in your field
- Experience in independently designing process engineering solutions, including component selection and sizing, P&ID and participation in technical purchases
- Digital/AI maturity - you use tools that simplify and streamline your work
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
- The position requires physical presence at the customer and travel with overnight stays occurs as a natural part of the role.
