Job Description
AFRY is looking for dedicated environmental consultants who want to contribute to the green transition and a sustainable society. We offer a modern workplace with challenging assignments, exciting projects, and excellent opportunities for professional development. We are now looking for a mid-level or senior colleague specializing in contaminated sites, based in Kiruna or Gällivare. You’ll be part of a larger team of environmental consultants working from Kiruna to Skellefteå, where collaboration and team spirit are key.
The Environment and Sustainability business area operates throughout Sweden and works with clients in the private, municipal, and government sectors. Our projects include mining, urban development, infrastructure, fossil-free steel, and renewable energy such as solar and wind power. Our environmental expertise also supports other business areas within AFRY.
As an environmental consultant, you will participate in projects at both the local and national levels. Your responsibilities will include fieldwork, environmental engineering site investigations, remediation studies, cleanup projects, risk assessments, and permit and licensing matters. The focus is on contaminated soil, with the opportunity to also work in ecology, EIA, public consultation, and sustainability issues.
In the role of project manager, you’ll have the opportunity to take responsibility for all or part of a project, from bidding and client contact to implementation, follow-up, and delivery. The role involves a high degree of personal responsibility and work throughout the entire project process, in close collaboration with colleagues both locally and nationally.
We are looking for someone who enjoys combining theory and practice, prefers working in the field, and is motivated by contributing to the development of the environment and society. At AFRY, we develop sustainable and innovative solutions—together.
