Job Description

Would you like to help shape the roads and social infrastructure of the future?

AFRY is one of Sweden’s leading players in civil engineering and infrastructure. We are now looking for a dedicated road designer or road engineer who wants to help develop our projects in Dalarna.

In our Roads & Land section, we work on everything from municipal street projects and development areas to larger projects for the Swedish Transport Administration. We are in an exciting phase of growth with several new projects and are therefore seeking additional expertise in road design.

With us, you’ll work alongside experienced specialists in roads, land, traffic, water and wastewater, and geotechnical engineering. We offer a varied workday where you’ll follow projects from early studies and road plans through to final construction documents and support during the construction phase. &#

As a road designer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Design of roads, streets, and traffic areas

  • Development of models, drawings, and technical specifications

  • Alignment, cross-sections, and road design

  • Design work in AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Preparation of request for proposals and construction documents

  • Coordination with other technical disciplines

  • Client contacts and technical discussions in project teams

  • Participation in projects for the Swedish Transport Administration and municipalities

We work in all phases of projects, from preliminary studies and investigations to detailed design and construction.  For the right person, there are also opportunities to advance into technical leadership, project management, or specialist roles.

You will be based at one of our offices in Mora, Borlänge, or Falun.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in road design who wants to continue developing their skills in this technical field.

We believe you have:

  • Experience in road and street design

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Knowledge of the Swedish Transport Administration’s regulations and AMA Anläggning

  • Experience working as a consultant, contractor, or client

  • Proficiency in Swedish and English

  • Class B driver’s license

Experience in the following areas is a plus:

  • Swedish Transport Administration projects

  • Municipal infrastructure projects

  • Development projects

  • VGU and road design

  • Model-based design

We welcome both those who are relatively early in their careers and those with extensive experience in road design.
