Job description


Our customers are in several industries, e.g. renewable energy sources, the forestry, pharmaceutical, steel and chemical industries. You will work with a mixture of short and long assignments. Furthermore, you will have several contact points both internally and externally, nationally and internationally.

Safety within AFRY consists of a national team of approx. 80 specialists who have extensive experience in several areas within risk management. We have a culture of helping and developing each other, therefore you will be able to grow with us. There is an opportunity to drive the technological development by getting involved in employee-led workgroups, led by our development team.

To meet the increasing demand for our services, we are looking for you who want to work with process safety. As an expert in process safety, you create a safe facility for our customers. Among other things, you will work with one or more service areas:

  • Management of risk analyses, e.g. HAZOP, HAZID, SIL analyses, etc
  • Production of documentation regarding ATEX, e.g. production of classification plans, explosion protection documents, etc
  • Work with implementing risk-related permit matters, e.g. Seveso, the Environmental Code, LBE, LSO, etc
  • Act as HSE lead in design projects that AFRY runs
  • Calculate consequences in the form of fire, explosion and toxic emissions.


In your role as a risk consultant with us, there may be travel around Sweden and outside Sweden as our area of ​​operation is international. Right now we are looking for employees mainly at AFRYs offices in Gothenburg, Stenungsund, Karlstad, Stockholm, Malmö, Borlänge and Örnsköldsvik. Other locations can also be discussed.



Requirements specification


We are looking for you who have previous experience of working with process safety, i.e. with one or more of the service areas mentioned above, either in the role of consultant or at a facility. You enjoy working with technology, are systematic and like working with complicated problems, and are a team player. We would like you to have an academic degree as a civil engineer or have acquired your knowledge according to the equivalent.

In the role of consultant, you need to build personal networks both at the client companies and internally at AFRY. If you have an established network, we see it as a great advantage. Furthermore, you are good at maintaining and managing your existing relationships and you are triggered by finding new business opportunities. You also need to have the ability to manage a budget and deliver with short deadlines as well as plan and organize your work yourself. If you also like being a task leader and guiding your colleagues, we see that as a plus. If, on the other hand, you find it more fun to specialize and have the opportunity to specialize in a certain area, that is another quality that is also looked upon positively.

In order to work with safety, high demands are placed on the ability to communicate. Therefore, it will be required that you master the Swedish language fluently and are well-versed in spoken and written English.

Within Safety, we work with risk management, fire, work environment and community protection and preparedness. In addition to process safety, risk management also includes risk consideration in physical planning, HSE coordination, climate risk analyses, etc. If you have experience in addition to process safety that is part of our service portfolio, it is advantageous.
