Job Description

As Group Manager at AFRY Safety in Sundsvall, you’ll have overall responsibility for the group’s employees, operations, and development. The role combines hands-on leadership with business and operational responsibility. You’ll have a broad mandate to build and develop the team while working closely with other managers and the Safety leadership team.

In the team, we work in areas such as machinery safety and occupational health and safety, as well as fire protection, risk management, and civil protection and emergency preparedness. Assignments range from specialized assignments and investigations to larger multidisciplinary projects.

The group is part of a larger national Safety organization with broad expertise, and we work with clients in sectors including industry, energy, infrastructure, and civil engineering.

Your main areas of responsibility include:

  • Personnel management and responsibility for employee well-being, development, and the work environment
  • Responsibility for the group’s workload, staffing, and skills provision
  • Recruiting and developing the team based on business needs
  • Actively engaging with clients, sales, and the development of existing and new business
  • Monitoring assignments, quality, and deliveries
  • Collaboration with other teams, locations, and areas of expertise within AFRY Safety
  • Participation in management activities alongside other managers within Safety
  • Direct operational involvement in projects—for example, as a project manager or specialist—based on your expertise and the team’s needs

The role entails a high degree of personal responsibility and the opportunity to influence both the team’s development and AFRY Safety’s continued growth in the region. There is the option to combine working from the office and from home, based on the needs of the assignment and the team and in consultation with your manager.

  • Experience in independently driving assignments, projects, or other activities forward
  • Understanding of the consulting business and how workload, finances, quality, and client relationships are interconnected
