Job description

As an automation engineer at AFRY you will work with programming, configuration and commissioning of control systems within industrial projects. The role means that you develop solutions in PLC and SCADA systems, mainly in Siemens TIA Portal and ABB 800xA, and participate in testing and commissioning. You ll be an important part of the project team and responsible for the automation part, which requires close cooperation with electrical designers and project managers.The work is mainly done at AFRY's office in Kalmar or at the customer's site, with some possibility to work from home. 

We expect that you can drive the programming work from idea to finished solution and contribute with your expertise to ensure that the project delivers according to requirements and schedule. You ll receive support from your manager and colleagues as well as access to AFRY's wide network of specialists. In the long term there are good development opportunities - for example to deepen yourself in advanced programming, take role as a system engineer or project manager, and develop as a consultant with a holistic perspective in customer assignments. 

Some assignments may require security review, which means that the role may include security classified projects in the future. 

Qualifications

To succeed in the role as an automation engineer you need to have a problem-solving approach where you can quickly identify causes of problems in complex control systems, analyze different solution options and choose the most effective way forward. You re businesslike and structured, which means you plan and organize your work with order on code and documentation, and ensure that the project follows agreed requirements, schedule and budget. The role also requires you to be ambitious - you take responsibility for driving tasks forward, actively seek improvements and keep up to date on new technologies.Finally, it is important that you are a team player who works closely with colleagues;with colleagues and customers, shares knowledge and contributes to a good working climate. 

Requirements 

  • Experience of programming in industry (manufacturing/process/food) as well as commissioning and troubleshooting. 
  • Minimum YH education in automation or equivalent experience 
  • System knowledge: Siemens TIA Portal and/or ABB 800xA 
  • Swedish and English at professional level in speech and writing 

Advantageous 

  • Knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems 
  • System knowledge: ABB SattLine, AVEVA System Platform etc. 
  • Knowledge/experience of electrical design
