Job Description

AFRY is the Nordic region’s largest systems integrator in automation. We help our clients with advanced technical solutions while leading the way in the industry’s transition toward a greener future and a more digitalized world. We therefore see a great need to recruit more skilled employees.

At AFRY, we have a very high level of expertise across a broad range of the ABB 800xA system. We have many projects to deliver and need to expand our team even further! In this job posting, we are seeking a senior automation engineer with solid experience in 800xA. You will initially serve as a resource on ongoing and upcoming projects, with the long-term goal of building and shaping a team and business focused on DCS/800xA projects and services in the Stockholm region. Eventually, you will serve as the manager, leading the team and developing the business both technically and commercially.

In this role, you will be involved in our entire delivery process. As a lead automation engineer, you will lead, support, and plan the work of your project team, where you will have a significant influence on the design of project delivery in close collaboration with project managers.

As an employee with us, you will either work on-site at a client’s location within their project organization or be part of one of our in-house projects from one of our offices in Solna or Liljeholmen. In these projects, you will collaborate with highly skilled colleagues from other AFRY offices.

Given AFRY’s size and breadth, we’re involved in many interesting projects within Swedish industry, where we deliver advanced automation solutions. If you want to be part of making a real difference, we’re the right workplace for you.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with experience working on complex solutions. We’d like you to enjoy building relationships both externally and internally, and to be motivated by sharing knowledge with colleagues. It’s important that you feel comfortable and enjoy your work, which is why we place great emphasis on your personal qualities. To thrive with us, we believe you should be curious, goal-oriented, organized, communicative, down-to-earth, and have a positive attitude.

In terms of experience, we believe you’ll recognize yourself in the following description:

  • Experienced engineer, technician, or equivalent with many years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, and preferably also in machine safety and system upgrades.
  • Several years of experience with application work in ABB 800xA systems is required. You also have experience working with system design, electrical infrastructure, I/O, and networks.
  • You must have a Class B driver’s license, as travel during certain periods is a natural part of your role.
  • Excellent proficiency in both spoken and written Swedish and English, as you will use both languages daily in this role.

This position may require you to work on our security-classified projects. This means that a security clearance process will be conducted in accordance with Swedish security protection legislation. To meet the requirements, you must hold citizenship that complies with the provisions of the Security Protection Ordinance, and there must be no impediments according to the criteria for security clearance.
