Job Description

At AFRY in Gothenburg and Varberg, we have a very high level of broad expertise in Industrial IT and Automation, specializing in ABB 800xA with a team of about 20 automation engineers. Now we need to grow even more! 

The team consists of knowledgeable and dedicated colleagues, and sharing experience and knowledge is a strong part of our culture. We work primarily on a project basis and collaborate with colleagues in other regions and technical fields. AFRY comprises a fantastic world of engineering expertise across a wide range of fields. We are seeking an experienced systems engineer with a background in DCS. In addition to modernizing today’s industry, we work with maintenance organizations and across all project phases—from feasibility studies to implementation and support—across a wide range of industries. For the right person, there are great opportunities for individual growth.

You will work on system upgrades, system design, installation, and configuration of server-based automation systems (primarily ABB 800xA). Our project deliveries take the form of expert services as well as complete functional or turnkey solutions. For this position, we offer flexible work locations.

Qualifications

• Engineer, technician, or equivalent with several years of experience in industry and automation, as well as solid expertise in ABB 800xA at the system level.
• Experience with Windows technology, networks, and DCS system installations.
• Experience with virtualization (ESXi, Hyper-V).
• Experience with cybersecurity.
• Must have a Class B driver’s license, as travel is a natural part of the job.
• Must be fluent in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Desirable skills:

• Knowledge/experience with NIS2.
• Knowledge of system hardening.
• Experience with application programming in 800xA.
• Experience with older ABB product families such as Advant systems, Sattline, etc.
• Experience/certification in 800xA SHC/Advanced Services.

This position may require you to work on our security-classified projects. This means that a security clearance check will be conducted in accordance with Swedish security protection legislation. To meet the requirements, you must hold citizenship that complies with the provisions of the Security Protection Ordinance, and there must be no impediments according to the criteria for security clearance.
