Job description

AFRY Advanced Automation in Borlänge is part of AFRY's investment in delivering innovative and sustainable automation solutions to industry. We work closely with our customers to create efficient, safe and future-proof systems that contribute to increased productivity and reduced environmental impact. Our team consists of dedicated specialists in automation, electrical design, mechanical design and project management, and we offer a dynamic work environment where skills development and collaboration are at the center. 

In the role of senior electrical designer, you will take overall responsibility for the electrical design of our projects, from concept phase to finished delivery. You will be a key member of the project team, working to develop and quality assure solutions that meet customer requirements and industry standards. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will also act as a sub-project manager, which means that you plan, coordinate and follow up the work in your area. You will be in close contact with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that schedules and budgets are met and contributing to the high quality delivery of the project. The role combines technical expertise with leadership and communication, and you will have the opportunity to influence both the details and the big picture of our projects. 

We re looking for you who have solid experience of electrical design within industrial assignments and who is used to working with different design tools and relevant standards.  

You have experience of project management or sub-project management and thrive on taking responsibility, driving the work forward and creating structure. Your communication skills and your interest in collaboration makes you fit well into our team. Requirements 

Work experience: 

• More than 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering in industrial process or production facilities

Knowledge/Education: 

• Relevant formal education in electricity, electrical engineering or electrical power, or equivalent practical experience
• Good knowledge of documentation tools and ability to handle and understand different customers' requirements and documentation systems

Language skills: 

• Swedish and English in speech and writing

Advantageous 
Work experience: 

• Experience working in project form, preferably in a leading role in industrial projects
• Experience in distributing tasks to younger employees in the project team
• Experience in automation projects linked to industrial drive systems
• Process experience from the steel and engineering industry and energy production

Education: 

• Engineering degree in electrical engineering, electrical construction or electrical power with industrial specialization

System knowledge: 

• Elprocad 
• EPLAN 
• Sitebase 
• Autocad Electrical
