About the Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Embedded Developer with a focus on the defense sector. With us, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and implement high-quality software solutions in technically advanced and safety-critical defense projects.

In the role of Embedded Developer, you’ll work across the entire development chain and contribute your technical expertise to advanced projects in defense and security.

As part of AFRY’s team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on innovative projects, both internally within our product development operations and on-site with our clients in the defense sector. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing software solutions for embedded systems, primarily in C/C++ and Python
• Work in agile and cross-functional teams, in close collaboration with software and hardware engineers
• Participate in the entire development process—from requirements analysis and design to implementation, testing, and verification
• Work on defense-related projects, both on-site at client locations and in-house
• Become part of AFRY’s large and skilled Embedded team, with excellent opportunities for professional development

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with a senior profile in embedded development and a clear interest in safety-critical systems. You have several years of experience with embedded systems and feel confident taking on technical responsibility in complex environments. We would like you to have:

• In-depth understanding of Embedded Linux
• Experience with or understanding of Yocto
• Experience with cybersecurity in embedded systems, for example:
  • Encryption
  • Key management
  • Secure boot
• Very strong knowledge of C/C++
• Experience with Python is a plus
• A plus: experience with Qt/QML

For this position, it is a requirement that you are fluent in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as our assignments often involve contact with Swedish clients. Some assignments may also be security-classified, which means you will undergo a security clearance process in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
