Job Description

We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of AFRY’s exciting future. Are you passionate about solving environmental challenges and contributing to the society of the future? Do you want to take the lead in technical development where the environment, sustainability, and digital solutions intersect? Then you’ll have the opportunity to do this alongside other #teamplayers within AFRY’s Environment business area.

Within the Environment business area, AFRY offers specialized consulting services in the areas of contaminated sites, as well as environment and sustainability. We’re a diverse team of consultants with varying areas of expertise who work on notification and permitting matters, water and air assessments, environmental impact statements, environmental studies, environmental soil investigations, environmental audits, risk assessments, sustainability, auditing, environmental management, and quality management. Our clients are found in the private, municipal, and government sectors.

We are looking for an experienced environmental consultant specializing in contaminated sites. As part of our team, you will play a central role in leading projects or serving as an expert. The primary focus of the role as an experienced environmental consultant specializing in contaminated sites is project and development work. You will work closely with our clients to identify, assess, and manage environmental risks. A business-oriented approach is essential, and you will work on projects from the bidding phase through implementation and reporting. We value your ability to analyze complex situations and your experience in managing projects from start to finish. As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with experienced colleagues both locally and nationally in this field to help create sustainable solutions for the environment. You will also be involved in training and developing junior colleagues.

At AFRY, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to and drive technological development nationwide across our various technical fields, where contaminated sites have their own dedicated technical area with ties to universities and research institutions. Several of our experienced consultants have research backgrounds and are currently collaborating with colleges and universities.

At AFRY, you’re part of a comprehensive solution and have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise across a wide variety of industries.

Qualifications

At AFRY, we live by our core values: “Brave – Devoted – Team players,” which also says a lot about the kind of people we’re looking for! We place great emphasis on your personal qualities, as we value commitment, flexibility, and the ability to collaborate with others.

To thrive and succeed in your role as a senior environmental consultant, we’re looking for someone who has:

  • A university or college degree in environmental studies
  • Excellent proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • At least 8 years of experience in contaminated sites
  • Experience leading projects in the role of project manager or team leader
  • A Class B driver’s license

We would prefer that you have experience with infrastructure projects, civil engineering contracts, land development projects, soil management, sediment, or water quality.

Experience in any of the following areas—risk assessment, feasibility studies, remediation planning, or remediation—is a plus but not a requirement.
