Job Description

Would you like to be a key player in one of the Nordic region’s strongest Life Science teams and contribute to the development of the future of pharmaceutical production? As a senior process engineer with us, you’ll play a central role in complex and socially important projects where your experience in process design makes a real difference.

We are now seeking a senior process engineer for our strong Life Sciences division in Stockholm, Uppsala, and Södertälje. Here, you’ll be part of a team of about 20 dedicated colleagues with expertise in process design, piping design, project management, and validation. Together, we help our clients define requirements, develop, establish, and optimize manufacturing processes and plant environments—primarily in pharmaceutical manufacturing—with a focus on robust, sustainable, and quality-assured solutions.

In this role, you will play a central and technically leading role in driving the process design forward in our projects. You will serve as an advisory expert to both the client and the project team and help ensure robust, quality-assured, and feasible solutions throughout the various phases of the projects. Responsibilities may include, for example:

  • Defining requirements for process equipment and technical solutions
  • Serving as a technical sounding board throughout all project phases
  • Developing and reviewing design documentation such as P&ID, component lists, and technical specifications
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues in areas such as piping design, electrical engineering, automation, and validation
  • Participating in on-site work and following up on how design solutions are implemented in practice

Qualifications

  • A college-level technical degree or equivalent experience
  • At least five years of experience as a process engineer in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a similar chemical engineering industry
  • Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Strong collaborative skills and a habit of actively contributing to the team
  • Confidence in taking personal responsibility, influencing the work, and contributing with a long-term perspective and a focus on quality

Additional Information

With us, you’ll have the opportunity to experience:

  • An inclusive and collaborative culture
  • Opportunities to take on leading technical roles
  • A broad project portfolio in pharma, biotech, and medtech
  • A strong focus on professional development
  • Competitive terms and benefits
  • Flexible work arrangements and a good work-life balance

At AFRY, we drive change in everything we do. We believe that change happens when bold ideas come together, when we collaborate, create innovation, and embrace creative solutions—that’s how we shape the future. We are constantly looking for qualified candidates who want to join our inclusive teams around the world. Join us and accelerate the green transition
