About the Role

We are now seeking an Embedded Developer with a focus on the automotive and defense sectors within model-based development. With us, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and implement high-quality software solutions in technically advanced and safety-critical projects, with a particular focus on model-based methodologies and code generation.

In this role, you’ll work across the entire development chain—from modeling and simulation to implementation and verification in the target environment. You’ll contribute your technical expertise in both traditional embedded development and model-based design, for example using Simulink.

As part of AFRY’s team, you’ll work on innovative projects, both in our internal product development and on-site with clients in the defense sector. We offer a diverse work environment where you can grow technically while working in an inclusive team focused on well-being and personal development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Working with model-based development in, for example, Simulink/MATLAB
• Develop, generate, and optimize code for embedded systems, primarily in C/C++
• Participate in the entire development process—from requirements analysis and modeling to implementation, testing, and verification
• Work with simulation, model validation, and automated testing
• Collaborate in agile, cross-functional teams with both software and hardware engineers

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in embedded development and a strong interest in model-based development and safety-critical systems. You’re confident in your technical skills and thrive in complex environments where quality and structure are crucial.

We would like you to have:

• At least 3 years of experience in embedded systems development
• Solid experience with C and/or C++
• Experience with model-based development, for example in Simulink/Matlab
• Experience with code generation from models and model validation
• Understanding of system design and requirements management in safety-critical systems
• Experience with Python is a plus

You are a humble and team-oriented person who enjoys sharing your knowledge and is eager to continue growing by learning from others. You thrive in a consulting role and are motivated by the opportunity to contribute your technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills in complex and safety-critical environments.

For this position, you must be fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and English, as our assignments often involve contact with Swedish clients. Some assignments may also be security-classified, which means you will undergo a security clearance process in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
