Role as System Specialist within Optofiber
Digitization and the construction of smart grids enable the energy transition in society. In order to develop new climate-smart solutions and to control, monitor and maintain all of Vattenfall Eldistribution's facilities, secure and well-functioning IT systems, automated work processes and modern system environments are needed.
The OT and Transmission group's assignments include operation and management as well as the development of data transmission solutions with a focus on own operational communication in local and regional networks. The group is responsible for optical equipment throughout its lifecycle and actively works as a technical requirements assessor in equipment investment projects.
The company's optical fiber network is an important component in the construction of all network-based communications that connect the company's facilities. The demand for robust, reliable and broadband communications has increased over the last 10-15 years and this infrastructure is now very central to the business' ability and willingness to digitize. Our optical fiber is also used by external parties with a number of socially important functions. Overall, optical fiber is part of a process data network that has requirements for functioning around the clock, all year round.
The position involves acting as a facility manager and ensuring that the business procures and implements projects according to the business's technical guidelines and to check that projects deliver as expected and participate in acceptance procedures and inspections. To succeed, continuous business intelligence and close dialogue with the business's project organization, i.e. project planners and project managers, are required, as well as ongoing dialogue with other responsible opto-managers.
