Job description

Do you want to work with advanced aircraft engines - both today's certified systems and next-generation propulsion solutions - in a role where technical depth is combined with a holistic perspective and close collaboration?

We are now looking for a Systems Engineer within Engine Performance. The role is clearly technology-focused and is aimed at those who have a few years of experience and want to work system-oriented with analysis, testing and development of complete engine systems.

The position is on site in Trollhättan, as the work is closely linked to engines, test environments and other technical disciplines.

About the role

As a Systems Engineer, you work with analysis, testing and development of aircraft engines and gas turbines. You contribute both in work with existing engine systems and in the development of future engine concepts, where understanding of the interaction between different subsystems is central.

The role combines analytical work with practical understanding and provides the opportunity to follow systems all the way - from simulation and calculation to demonstrators and tests.

You work closely with colleagues in aerodynamics, turbomachinery, mechanical design, thermal analysis, control engineering and testing, where joint technical discussions and trade-offs are a natural part of everyday life.

Examples of typical responsibilities

  • Aero engine performance analysis and calculations
  • System modeling and analysis of complete engine systems
  • Aircraft and engine integration
  • Concept studies in engine and aircraft design
  • Angine performance analysis linked to use, mission types and profiles
  • Involvement in testing, verification and troubleshooting
  • Development of methods and tools in the field of performance

Contribute in the development of demonstrators - from concept to implementation

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Civil engineering degree in aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering physics or equivalent
  • Some years of relevant experience (about 3 years or more) in aircraft engines, gas turbines or related field
  • Good foundation in jet engines/gas turbines and aerodynamics
  • Experience in analysis, system modeling and/or method and tool development
  • Ability to work structured and with others in technical teams
  • Swedish and English in speech and writing

Advantageous:

  • Experience from aerospace or defense industry
  • Experience from industry or academia with similar technical focus
  • Programming or scripting (e.g.e.g. Python, Matlab, C++, Fortran)
  • Experience with gas turbine simulation tools such as Gasturb, Proosis, NPSS, GSP/Gestpan or similar

Personal characteristics

We are looking for you who are analytical, curious and engaged in technical systems. You enjoy delving into complex issues, while appreciating collaboration, knowledge sharing and joint problem solving.

You don't need to know everything from the start - what matters is that you have a solid technical foundation, a willingness to develop and the courage to contribute your perspective.
