Job description

Do you have a strong ability to understand and develop complex technical systems? Are you used to working with requirements throughout the life cycle - from need to verified solution? Do you want to continue to develop in the field of defense in an environment where your skills really make a difference?

We are now looking for Systems Engineering Managers and Systems Engineers who want to contribute to creating robust, safe and future-proof system solutions in the field of defense.

The defense sector is growing rapidly - and we want to grow together with you who have the skills, independence and drive to take responsibility in complex assignments.

Qualifications

As Systems Engineering Manager

You are responsible for ensuring sustainable and robust system solutions while leading and developing teams. The role combines technical systems understanding with leadership and business insight, and you will feel confident to:

  • Taking overall responsibility for systems engineeringwork
  • Lead and support systems engineers in complex assignments
  • Make technical decisions and drive the work forward
  • Be a key player in the dialog with customers and other stakeholders
  • Drive development in the Systems Engineering area and train others

As a Systems Engineer

You work independently or in teams with requirements and systems in different phases of the life cycle. You have a clear systems mindset and can translate needs into technical solutions.

The work may include:

  • Requirements management and requirements refinement
  • Architecture and design of system solutions
  • System integration and interface management
  • Verification and validation
  • Configuration management
  • Integrated logistics support (ILS)

We are looking for you who:

  • Are confident in your systems engineering skills and can work independently in complex assignments
  • Have a strong systems mindset and understand how components interact in wholes
  • Can translate business and customer needs into clear technical requirements
  • Have experience working with systems throughout the lifecycle
  • Have a good understanding of established approaches and frameworks in Systems Engineering (e.g.e.g. INCOSE and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288)
  • Has the ability to take responsibility, drive work forward and make informed decisions
  • Academic degree at least at university level with a technical focus

For the role of Systems Engineering Manager, the following is required:

  • Experience in leading and developing teams
  • Experience in creating structure, clarity and direction in complex assignments
  • Confidence in combining technology, business and leadership

Advantageous

  • Certification in Systems Engineering (e.g.e.g. INCOSE CSEP/ASEP)
  • Experience with requirements management tools
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience from major projects in the defense area

 

Security Clearance & Training Verification

Our assignments are varied and many are in security classified areas, which means that you may need to undergo a security clearance before joining us. Swedish citizenship is a requirement. For all recruitments at AFRY, an ID check, reference checks and verification of education are always carried out before employment.

Travel may occur. Placement possible in several locations; Solna, Uppsala, Enköping, Örnsköldsvik, Karlstad, Arboga, Skövde, Gothenburg or Karlskrona.
