Job Description

We are now looking for Systems Engineering Managers and Systems Engineers who want to help create robust, secure, and future-proof system solutions in the defense sector.

Qualifications

As a Systems Engineering Manager

You’ll be responsible for ensuring sustainable and robust system solutions while leading and developing teams. This role combines technical systems expertise with leadership and business acumen, and you feel confident in:

  • Taking overall responsibility for systems engineering work
  • Leading and supporting systems engineers in complex projects
  • Making technical decisions and driving the work forward
  • Serving as a key player in dialogue with customers and other stakeholders
  • Driving development in the field of systems engineering and training others

As a Systems Engineer / Systems Engineer

You will work independently or in a team with requirements and systems in various phases of the lifecycle. You have a clear systems-oriented mindset and can translate needs into technical solutions.

The work may include, among other things:

  • Requirements management and refinement
  • Architecture and design of system solutions
  • System integration and interface management
  • Verification and validation
  • Configuration management
  • Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)

We are looking for someone who:

  • Are confident in your systems engineering expertise and can work independently on complex assignments
  • Have a strong systems mindset and understand how components interact within the bigger picture
  • Can translate business and customer needs into clear technical requirements
  • Have experience working with systems throughout their entire lifecycle
  • Have a good understanding of established working methods and frameworks within Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288)
  • Is accustomed to taking responsibility, driving work forward, and making well-informed decisions
  • Holds at least a bachelor’s degree in a technical field

For the role of Systems Engineering Manager, the following is required:

  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Experience creating structure, clarity, and direction in complex projects
  • Confidence in combining technology, business, and leadership

Desirable

  • Certification in Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP/ASEP)
  • Experience with requirements management tools
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience with large-scale projects in the defense sector

 

Security Clearance & Education Verification

Our assignments are varied, and many are in security-classified areas, which means you may need to undergo a security clearance process before starting with us. Swedish citizenship is required. For all recruitments at AFRY, an ID check, reference checks, and verification of education are always conducted as a standard procedure prior to employment.

Business travel may be required. Positions are available in several locations: Stockholm/Solna, Uppsala, Enköping, Örnsköldsvik, Karlskoga, Arboga, Skövde, Malmö
