Job description

AFRY is investing heavily in upcoming railway projects in the Nordic region and we are equipped for investments in both maintenance and new construction. Our railway organization is today national with offices from Malmö to Luleå and through close cooperation between different technical areas, we together form a strong whole. In Sweden we currently have about 120 employees.

As technical manager railway land you have a key role in shaping the railway infrastructure of the future. You lead and drive the technical work in the technical area of land - from early investigations to finished construction documents. In this role, you combine technical expertise with a holistic approach and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

You will:

• Be technical lead for the ground engineering area on some of our rail projects - planning, coordinating and quality assuring deliveries
• Contribute to the development of working methods, templates and tools in the engineering area to improve efficiency and quality
• Be a support for project managers and project leaders in technical matters and contribute to a safe and efficient delivery
• Review documents and ensure that solutions meet requirements, standards and customer expectations
• Participate in tender work and contribute with your experience in how we best organize assignments
• Be an ambassador for good technology and smart solutions - both in the projects and internally in our networks
• Be a support for junior colleagues in their development in the field of technology

You will be based in one of our offices in Luleå, Umeå, Sundsvall, Gävle, Borlänge or Falun.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• Some years of experience in the role of Technical manager in railway land
• Good understanding of soil and foundation issues in a railway environment and experience of the Swedish Transport Administration's regulations and requirements
• Experience of working in an international environment
• Experience of leading technical work, coordinate with other disciplines and quality assure deliveries
• Experience in railway design and good understanding of the whole design process, preferably in Bentley software
• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in relevant field
