Job Description

Do you want to combine engineering with leadership? Then this might be the role for you.

We’re looking for a dedicated Technical Manager in the road and/or water and sewer sector to join our team in Norrköping. In addition to being responsible for your technical area, you’ll also serve as a team leader for our local road and water and sewer group.

You don’t need to have held a formal leadership role before. We believe the right person can grow into the role with support from encouraging colleagues and hands-on managers. The most important thing for us is that you have the desire to take responsibility, foster engagement, and contribute to the team’s development.

Technical Manager

As a Technical Manager, you will lead your technical area and ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with the client’s requirements and expectations. You are responsible for the technical area’s budget, schedule, and quality, and ensure that projects comply with relevant technical standards and regulations.

You have strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Novapoint and are well-versed in AMA. You collaborate closely with other disciplines and stakeholders to develop feasible and sustainable solutions. Throughout the projects, you will monitor the technical execution to ensure high quality and that the work is carried out according to plan.

You will also play a key role in liaising with clients and partners and help develop long-term relationships.

Team Leadership Responsibilities

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will serve as team leader for our road and water/sewer group in Norrköping. This role involves supporting, coaching, and developing the team in their day-to-day work, as well as fostering good collaboration and a positive work environment.

You do not need to have held a formal leadership role previously. We believe that the right person can grow into the role with support from colleagues and managers. As a team leader, you’ll support and develop the team in their day-to-day work, without formal personnel responsibility. As the team and the business grow, there’s an opportunity to advance to group manager with personnel responsibility.

You’ll be based at our office in Norrköping.

Qualifications

You meet the following requirements:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or urban planning, or equivalent.
  • At least four years of experience in design work related to roads and/or water and wastewater systems.
  • Experience with technical responsibility, technical coordination, or technical management in projects.
  • A solid understanding of finance, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, standards, and technical guidelines.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Swedish and English.
  • A proactive approach to work and the ability to take responsibility and drive issues forward.

It is a plus if you have:

  • Experience coordinating or leading a technical team.
  • An interest in leadership and a desire to develop in a team leadership role.
  • An interest in business development and contributing to the team’s long-term growth.
  • Experience with sourcing, such as collaborating with international teams.
  • Experience working with sustainability issues.

As a person, we believe that you...

  • Enjoy supporting others and creating the conditions for their success.
  • Are humble, unpretentious, and build trust through your collaborative approach.
  • Have a natural commitment to people and enjoy sharing your knowledge.
  • Are curious about leadership and want to grow in the role, even if you haven’t held a formal leadership position before.

As mentioned, you do not need to have held a formal leadership role before. The most important thing is that you want to take responsibility, grow, and contribute to the team’s success. We’ll help you with the rest. We therefore welcome you if you’re ready to take the next step in your career. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to grow into a team leader role within a small group with plenty of support.
