AFRY's Market Service Area within Project Management in Malmö works with managing complex construction projects in sectors such as Infrastructure, Defense, High Security and Health.

Job description

Do you want to do your thesis in civil engineering, AI and project management?

We are now looking for you who want to write your thesis with us, focusing on how artificial intelligence can be used to streamline and improve bridge inspections - an area with great potential for innovation and social benefit.

The thesis aims to investigate how AI-based methods, such as image analysis from drones or machine learning, can support or replace parts of the traditional inspection process. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our consultants in project management, construction management and inspection, as well as take part in real project data and methods.

Example questions:

• What types of damage can be identified using AI and image analysis?
• How does AI-based inspection differ from traditional methodology?
• What technical and legal requirements must be met for AI to be used in practice?
• How can AFRY's expertise in project management and digitization contribute to the development?

Timeline

Start in February 2026, implementation in the spring.

The job is carried out at AFRY's office in Malmö and/or at the university.

Qualifications

You are studying for a Master's degree in civil engineering, computer engineering, engineering physics, mechanical engineering or equivalent. You are in the final stages of your education and have an interest in AI, programming and digital product development.
