Job Description

Would you like to help ensure that the vehicles of the future function as intended, all the way from development to a verified solution?

At AFRY, we believe that the best solutions are created when people with different perspectives, experiences, and ideas have the opportunity to grow together. We’re now looking for Vehicle Integration & Fault Tracing Engineers who want to combine technical depth, problem-solving, and hands-on vehicle work in a role where you can make a real difference.

Here, you’ll be part of a close-knit team working with some of the most advanced development and test vehicles in the automotive industry. Together, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the vehicles are up to date, available, and ready for the next stage of development.

About the Role

As a Vehicle Integration & Fault Tracing Engineer, you’ll work closely with vehicles, systems, and people. You’ll be a key part of a long-term project focused on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

You’ll have the opportunity to track technical challenges from the first symptoms to a verified solution and work at the intersection of software, electronics, and hardware. The role involves close collaboration with specialists in several technical fields and offers you a great opportunity to contribute your own ideas and suggestions for improvement.

The work is carried out at development, production, and testing facilities in the Gothenburg area.

Your main responsibilities

  • Integrate, configure, and update software in complete vehicles
  • Troubleshoot software, electronics, and communication between control units
  • Conduct root cause analyses and verify implemented solutions
  • Ensure high availability in development and test vehicles
  • Document technical status and collaborate with relevant development and test teams
  • Contribute to the development of work methods, processes, and quality within the team

Qualifications

We believe you have

  • A technical degree in, for example, electronics, mechatronics, automotive engineering, or computer science, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with vehicle integration, diagnostics, or technical troubleshooting
  • A solid understanding of embedded systems and the interaction between software, electronics, and hardware
  • Experience with CAN communication and diagnostic tools
  • Strong English skills, both spoken and written
  • Class B driver’s license

Preferred

  • Experience with heavy-duty vehicles or complex vehicle platforms
  • Configuration of control units
  • CANalyzer or CANoe
  • Diagnostic protocols and error code handling
  • Testing and verification work

Who are you? We believe you’re someone who enjoys understanding how things fit together and who is driven to find solutions even when the path forward isn’t obvious. You’re curious, organized, and eager to share your knowledge with others.

To thrive in this role, we see that you enjoy collaborating, building trust, and taking shared responsibility for the results. You thrive both in the hands-on work with vehicles and in the analytical aspects where you can delve deeply into technical issues.
