Älvsbyn High School has approximately 140 students spread across seven programs. The school is centrally located, meaning that a sports hall, ice rink, swimming pool, ski trails, soccer fields, an athletics facility, and nature are all right around the corner, while it is also close to the town center with the main library, community centers, a bowling alley, and more.
Job Responsibilities
As a teacher, your primary responsibility is to plan, conduct, and follow up on lessons. As a math teacher, your role is to motivate students and give each one the opportunity to succeed. You will actively contribute to the school’s overall development and take responsibility for ensuring that students reach their full potential in their academic growth. Mentoring is part of the role.
Qualifications
You hold a teaching certification with authorization to teach mathematics at the high school level. Certification in another subject is a plus. You are a clear leader who actively works to foster a safe and productive learning environment in a creative classroom where students are actively engaged. You teach in an inspiring way and are committed to your students and their goals. You understand the importance of building strong relationships with young people and have a calm, even-tempered approach characterized by trust in your students. You are willing to reflect, together with colleagues, on your own and others’ attitudes and interactions. A solid understanding of the school’s mission and knowledge of current policies are required. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
This is a permanent, full-time (100%) position with an immediate start date. We may require a probationary period for new hires.
An extract from the police’s suspicion and criminal record registry is required. Hiring is contingent upon the necessary decisions being made.
