In the municipality of Älvsbyn, you’ll become part of a small but highly competent and supportive team where we care for one another and work together to achieve great results. The Individual and Family Care Department covers the following areas: children and youth, foster care, family law, financial assistance, and adult services. The department consists of 14 caseworkers, one administrator, one senior social worker, and a unit manager. We are a close-knit group that supports one another, and we offer a pleasant work environment with close managerial support.

About the Role As a foster care caseworker, you are the hub of our team. It’s a multifaceted role where you’ll juggle many tasks while building strong relationships. You’ll coordinate contacts and tie together all the important threads surrounding the child and the foster family. The job requires a high degree of independence and involves frequent travel.

Your main responsibilities:

· Connecting the network: You serve as the link between the foster family, the child’s social worker, the school, and health care providers.

· Close team collaboration: You’ll work in close dialogue with child welfare caseworkers to ensure a safe and coordinated approach.

· Support and guidance: You’ll match, train, and provide close, personalized support to our foster families.

· Fostering collaboration: You will develop and nurture partnerships with external stakeholders and organizations.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who is a natural relationship builder and who thrives on collaborating with others. Since we are a small municipality, we place great importance on your personal fit, your communication skills, and your ability to coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

· A degree in social work or other academic education deemed relevant by the employer (e.g., in behavioral science, education, or social work).

· Excellent ability to collaborate and communicate with diverse target groups.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as a Class B driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience in public administration or social services.

· Training in investigative methodology (We are looking to build a long-term relationship).

· Experience with networking or systematic family work.

· Experience with the Pulsen Combine case management system is a plus.

 

Additional Information

We offer you a permanent position. Start date as soon as possible, to be agreed upon.

Working hours are during the day, Monday–Friday. Some remote work is possible.
