Fluxen’s Day Program is a daily activity program under the Social Services Act (SoL) designed to provide participants with social interaction, structure, and meaningful activities in their daily lives, as well as to offer temporary respite to family members. The day program’s activities are designed to encourage physical activity and to maintain the functions necessary for carrying out daily life activities. Day programs are needs-assessed services.
Our goal for the day program is to support participants in making the most of their resources and abilities. This can be achieved through activities such as walks, baking/cooking, singing, gardening, and individual exercises/activities, where we also place great emphasis on the participants’ own preferences whenever possible. We operate in accordance with social services’ core values for elder care, which ensure that everyone can live a dignified life and experience well-being.
Job Responsibilities
The way we interact with participants is of great importance, and we place a high priority on this. As an occupational therapist, it is important that you feel confident in your professional role and enjoy working with older adults.
Your responsibilities include working with the team to take overall responsibility for planning activities based on participants’ wishes, abilities, and needs on an annual, weekly, and daily basis. You will also be responsible for carrying out the planned activities. The role also includes assessing participants’ ability to participate in activities, making home visits, and providing advice and support to family members.
In addition to the work at the day center, the team is part of the municipality’s community centers for older adults. There, together with colleagues, participants, and other stakeholders, you will plan and conduct gatherings aimed at reducing loneliness among older adults.
We are constantly working to improve our services, and we hope you will take a leading role in this development work alongside us.
