In the municipality of Älvsbyn, you’ll become part of a small but highly competent and supportive team where we care for one another and work together to achieve good results. Individual and Family Services covers the following areas: children and youth, foster care, family law, financial assistance, and adult services. The department consists of 14 case workers, one administrator, one senior social worker, and a unit manager. We are a close-knit group that supports one another, and we offer a pleasant work environment with close managerial support.

Job Responsibilities

In a smaller municipality, you’ll gain a unique, holistic perspective and a broad scope of responsibilities. With us, you won’t be just another anonymous case worker in the crowd. You’ll manage your own cases and meet with clients, while also having a clear mandate to develop our work processes. We want to modernize our processes, shorten processing times, and strengthen collaboration with the labor market unit and external partners. Here, you’ll have the freedom to think innovatively and test new methods to help people become self-sufficient.

Your main responsibilities

· Lead development efforts to improve processes, digital workflows, and methods within financial assistance.

· Receiving, investigating, and assessing eligibility for financial assistance in accordance with applicable legislation (SoL).

· Goal-oriented change work together with the client, focusing on employment, education, and self-sufficiency.

· Collaborate closely with the labor market unit, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Public Employment Service, as well as psychiatric and healthcare services.

· Document and make decisions in the municipality’s Pulsen Combine system.

This area of responsibility also includes handling social contracts and cases of domestic violence.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work, a degree from the Social Care Program, or other academic training deemed adequate by the employer. We expect you to have strong investigative and documentation skills, as well as the ability to express yourself clearly both verbally and in writing. A Class B driver’s license is required.

As a person, you are stable, self-motivated, and organized. You are professional in your role, have a positive demeanor, and are a good team player. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Knowledge and experience in social work involving the administration of financial assistance, as well as knowledge of the Social Services Act, are considered a plus. Experience with the Pulsen Combine operational system is also a plus.

Additional Information

We are offering a full-time, permanent position. Start date to be agreed upon as soon as possible.

Working hours are daytime, Monday through Friday. Some remote work options are available.
