Work tasks
Älvsbyns gymnasium offers the programs BA, EE, VO, SA NA and IM. We have NIU skiing, ski orientation and orienteering and the school has about 150 students. Älvåkraskolan is a 7-9 school with about 260 students. The schools are located in the same school area and are built together.
Your main tasks as a study and career counselor at Älvsbyn Upper Secondary School and Älvåkra School are to offer our students qualified study and career guidance in collaboration with the school's management and other staff.
You conduct guidance conversations with individual students and inform and guide individuals and groups for the choices they face in terms of schooling and future career direction. You plan and support students for Älvåkra School's internship periods. As a study and career counselor, you are part of the student health team at both schools.
Qualifications
You have a degree as a study and career counselor or other education / experience that the employer considers equivalent. We value good ICT skills and expect you to have a good knowledge of the school's national policies and a deep understanding of your role as a guidance counselor. You are flexible but organized, work independently but see the value of, and are good at, working with others. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
The position is a permanent position of 100% with access from 2026-08-01.
