Älvåkraskolan is an elementary school with students in grades 7-9. In total, there are about 260 students at the school. Parkskolan houses the central town's middle school and there are about 240 students. Both schools are centrally located, which means that the sports hall, ice rink, swimming hall, ski tracks, football pitches, athletics facility and nature are just around the corner, while it is close to the community center with the main library, meeting rooms, bowling alley and more.
Duties
The position is organized in close collaboration with the music teacher of the upper secondary school, where teaching is paralleled to enable work in half-class. You can share the student groups, which creates good conditions for more individualized teaching and strengthens the students' opportunities to reach as far as possible in their knowledge development.
You will be part of a subject collaboration where you together plan, implement and follow up the teaching. Through collaboration, you help to create a clear progression and a common thread in music education through middle and high school.
You will also be responsible for leading and organizing common traditions, such as Lucia celebrations and school graduation, and you collaborate with other educators in both subject teams and work teams. You will actively contribute to the development of the school as a whole and take responsibility for ensuring that pupils reach their full potential. The conditions for music teaching are good and are conducted in appropriate premises.
Qualifications
You have a teacher's license with the right to teach music, in the later years of primary school. You are a clear leader who works actively for safety and study peace in a creative classroom where students are involved. You teach in an inspiring way and engage with the students and their goals.
You understand the importance of creating good relationships with young people and have a low-key approach that is permeated by trust in the students. You are prepared to reflect together with colleagues on your own and others' approach and treatment. A good understanding of the school's mission and knowledge of current governance is a prerequisite. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
The position is a permanent position of 100% with access to 2026-08-12. We may apply probationary employment for new employment
