Job Responsibilities

As a teacher in Älvsbyn, we place great importance on your adherence to current goals and policy documents. Your primary responsibility is to ensure students’ learning and development through instruction, guidance, and support in the subject of Specialized Sports. You will select teaching methods, content, and approach based on each student’s knowledge, experience, and specific circumstances, so that students achieve the established goals.

The job involves planning and conducting training sessions with students, as well as documenting, following up, and evaluating their progress. You will communicate goals and progress with students. Collaboration with other staff is an important part of the role, as a large portion of the work involves working in teams with students; for example, some of the training is conducted together with students at the orienteering and ski-orienteering high school, and you will work in a team with both cross-country and orienteering coaches. The position as a cross-country skiing coach may also include other responsibilities, such as admissions, testing, and marketing related to the program. You will also actively contribute to the school’s development and take responsibility for your own professional development.

The position may involve some evening and weekend work, as well as participation in training camps.
