The Public Works Administration shall with a forward-looking approach make available, maintain, manage and develop the municipality's physical environment, infrastructure and transport. The work of the administration is permeated by cooperation, holistic approach and efficient use of resources. Through good planning, the administration contributes to an attractive living environment that is sustainable in the long term from an ecological, social and economic point of view.
The Public Works Administration consists of the following operational areas: Spatial Planning, Water, Sewerage and Waste, Streets, Parks and Forests and Real Estate, Environment and Construction. The Projects and Investment unit manages and coordinates the administration's new and reinvestments.
The Water and Wastewater Department is divided into three units, Water and Wastewater, Waste and Recycling and the Development and Support Unit. The Water and Sewerage Department in the municipality of Boden is responsible for municipal water and sewerage operations. This is done through the production and distribution of drinking water and the diversion and treatment of wastewater for about 28,000 municipal residents.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be part of a team working on the operation and maintenance of water, wastewater and stormwater pipes and associated equipment. The water and sewerage service consists of a production manager, a supply manager and four engineers.
We offer a varied job that requires the ability to work both in a team and independently. The service includes weekly readiness Thursday to Thursday. Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. A security check with a register check will then be carried out before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
The tasks include, among other things:
- Implementation and follow-up of leak detection and repair of leaks.
- Rounding of water pipe networks
- Participating in GPS measurement and film inspection of pipe networks
- Implementing and following up flushing programs for water, waste and storm water networks.
- New service connection, sewer stops, valve replacements, fire hydrant control, etc.
- Carrying out functional checks and inventories, handling materials and storage operations.
- Measures in the event of a breakdown in the Va network
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have a high school diploma, preferably with a technical focus - or equivalent work experience in the field. You have a driving license and basic computer skills. To be successful in the role, you need to have good teamwork skills, be responsible, careful, flexible, good initiative and have an interest in VA issues. Basic computer skills are a requirement. A B driving license is a requirement.
The following qualifications are an advantage:
- Operations and maintenance engineering training
- Experience in the operation of water systems or equivalent.
- Training in leak detection
- Diploma training in pipe networks.
- Hot work
- Work on the road
- PE welding certificate
