We are now looking for rescue personnel on standby for our pool operations. As a RiB, you will make a real difference through a meaningful, varied and challenging assignment. You will be part of a strong community, receive qualified training and good training opportunities as well as a financial contribution. As an on-call rescue worker, you will be on standby, alongside your regular work, according to a schedule, usually every 4 weeks. During the on-call period, you may be called to rescue operations when needed, for example in the event of fires, accidents and life-saving operations. During standby, you must be able to report to the fire station within 8 minutes, regardless of the time of day. The response time is counted from the time the alarm goes off until the emergency vehicle leaves the station. Therefore, you need to live and/or work near the fire station. You must be available 24 hours a day during the standby period via pager, which requires your regular employer to authorize you to leave the workplace in case of an alarm. DUTIES Working as an on-call firefighter means that, in addition to your regular work, you will be on call according to a schedule, usually every four weeks (approximately 168 hours per month). During the on-call period, you may be called upon to perform rescue operations as needed. These operations vary and may include, for example, lifesaving, fire extinguishing and support in the event of a traffic accident. Upon recruitment, you will undergo a three-week basic training for rescue personnel on standby (Vulture 1) before starting duty, as well as a 40-hour smoke diver training. The training includes both theoretical and practical elements, such as working at traffic accidents, working at heights, response exercises and basic fire knowledge. Within two years, a further three-week training course (Vulture 2) is completed. The training courses are paid and, where appropriate, compensation for loss of earnings may be paid by the regular employer. You will be reimbursed for standby time, emergency calls, exercises and physical training (1 hour per week). You also have free access to training facilities at the station. QUALIFICATIONS No prior knowledge is required, but you will receive the necessary training upon recruitment. The requirements we have are: - Driving license with at least qualification B - Good knowledge of Swedish, spoken and written - Prepared to take a driving license with category C during the employment In connection with new employment, tests are conducted where you need to show: - Good physical fitness and health - Ability to cooperate and resist stress - Passed swimming and lifesaving test (Gold Buoy) You must be in good health and a medical examination is part of the recruitment process.
