We are now seeking a Labor Market Consultant for a long-term temporary position who wants to help develop this important work alongside us. About the Position As a Labor Market Consultant, you will have overall responsibility for an individual’s path toward self-sufficiency, working alongside colleagues at the Job Center, Individual and Family Services, and other partners. You will work to create clear, personalized pathways to support individuals’ needs for work-focused interventions, guidance, and practical activities to help them move toward self-sufficiency.  The work involves meeting people where they are while keeping the focus on work, education, or other sustainable steps forward for the individual. Among other things, you will: • Conduct individual assessments of experiences, skills, challenges, resources, and goals. • Provide motivational support, clarify support needs, and closely monitor and document the individual’s progress toward employment, education, or other forms of self-sufficiency. • Develop actionable activity plans together with the individual and relevant stakeholders. • Match individuals with municipal activities, job training, internships, studies, or other developmental initiatives. • Build relationships and collaborate with social services, the Employment Service, educational providers, employers, and internal operations We are looking for someone who • Has a strong commitment to people, labor market issues, and social impact. You have a strong ability to build relationships, set clear expectations, and provide professional support while documenting your work. • Are skilled at collaborating with colleagues, other workplaces, government agencies, and other stakeholders, and view the team surrounding the individual as crucial to success. • Are confident when interacting with people in various life situations, can handle difficult conversations, and remain committed to the mission. • Can work in a structured, independent, and solution-focused manner even when the path forward is not clear. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • A completed college degree in one or more of the following fields: Social Work, Behavioral Science, Education, Labor Market Studies, Academic and Career Counseling, or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer.  • Working in digital systems and the Office environment comes naturally to you. • We require that you have a Class B driver’s license. It is advantageous if you have experience with: • Working with individuals who are distanced from the labor market, receive public assistance, have health issues, disabilities, substance abuse problems, criminal records, language barriers, or other support needs. • Coordinating efforts between individuals, government agencies, internal operations, and employers. • Work within municipal labor market services. • Motivational interviewing, Supported Employment, solution-focused approaches, or similar methods. Employment type: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer. A criminal background check will be requested for the candidate who is offered the position due to the nature of the work.
