We have overall responsibility for integration, labor market, education, and employment issues affecting our municipality’s residents. The department is also responsible for the Culture School, food services, and student health. Brönjaskolan is a school for grades 7–9 in Sävast, seven kilometers outside the center of Boden, with approximately 250 students. Brönjaskolan has three teams organized by grade level and a well-developed, school-based student health program. The student health team consists of a special education teacher, a school speech-language pathologist, a college and career counselor, a school social worker, and a school nurse. Brönja School also has a safety team consisting of a safety coordinator and a safety resource person, who work actively to build relationships, foster a sense of safety, and ensure a peaceful learning environment for our students. Our focus areas are increased achievement through higher student attendance and strengthened reading and writing skills across all school subjects. Your primary teaching responsibility will be English, but you will also lead English groups during elective language periods. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction in accordance with current guidelines and will help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for our students.  You will be part of one of the school’s teaching teams and will work closely with colleagues to support students’ academic development and well-being. The position also includes serving as the homeroom teacher for a group of students. In this role, you will actively work to create the best conditions for students to develop, thrive, and feel safe during their time at school. You are expected to contribute to the school’s development efforts and play an active role in collegial learning at the school. QUALIFICATIONS We are primarily looking for a certified teacher qualified to teach English to grades 7–9. Qualifications in additional subjects are a plus. Qualifications or experience teaching French are particularly desirable.  We want you to be open to varied teaching approaches, collaboration, and school development. You have strong pedagogical insights and are well-versed in the school’s guiding documents and systematic quality assurance efforts. Your pedagogical and social skills enable you to easily build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You are skilled at creating safe and nurturing learning environments where students are given the opportunity to reach their full potential in their learning. You are experienced in using digital tools in the classroom and view digitalization as a natural part of educational work.
