Do you want to be involved in working towards a sustainable future? Do you have an interest in environmental and waste issues? Then you could be the one we are looking for! We are now looking for two employees for the Recycling Center at Brännkläppen in Boden.
Customers come to the recycling centers (ÅVC) to leave what they do not want anymore. As an employee at the recycling center, you have an important role in the meeting with customers. Together we work for a sustainable future.
In Boden municipality, we receive large amounts of food waste from most municipalities. The food waste is recycled into biogas, and the first step is to make a slurry from the food waste. The slurry plant is located at Brännkläppen, and from there the slurry is transported to the biogas plant.
WORK TASKS
We are now looking for two environmental workers for the waste/customer service unit, which belongs to the department for water, sewage and waste (VAA) at Boden municipality.
It is a varied job with nice colleagues where you work together to ensure that the daily operations at ÅVC Brännkläppen are managed in an efficient, safe and environmentally sound manner. The tasks also include carrying out assignments with our waste service car and running the slurry plant.
At ÅVC, we will work on waste prevention, that is, stop things from becoming waste, and we will steer more towards reuse and recycling instead of incineration and landfill. The customer meeting is our focus, you are our public face and understand the importance of good treatment. You inform and guide the municipality's citizens, both private individuals and businesses.
The work includes rough sorting of recycling, reception control of hazardous waste, snow removal, keeping order and tidiness, sorting and reloading, handling of waste containers, etc. Other independent tasks outside the ÅVC are also included, such as distributing bio bags, replacing broken waste containers, etc.
The waste service vehicle is assigned the assignments via a tablet and after good planning, the day's / week's assignments are carried out in a time and environmentally efficient manner.
In addition to the tasks at ÅVC, work is also included in the slurry plant where we manage the daily operation, which means, among other things, loading food waste into the plant with a wheel loader, changing containers for coarse cleaning and monitoring the process from food waste to slurry.
